The Distortion knob dials in the amount of gain and sustain, from subtle grit to massively distorted. The Range knob adjusts the amount of low-end content before distortion for a tighter sound — a must-have for muddy-sounding pickups. The Volume knob controls your output level; the Tone knob shapes the character of your distortion. You also get a 3-position Mode switch that toggles between D1 (a heavily compressed distortion), D2 (a softer, more expressive distortion), and Overdrive (subtle grit that's great for boosting the front end of your amp).
